Following the Los Angeles LLakers’decision to rescind the transfer of Charlotte Hornets’ centre, Mark Williams in exchange for Dalton Knecht, Cam Reddish, an unprotected 2031 first-round pick, and a 2030 first-round pick swap, the Eastern Conference team has released an intriguing statement in which the big player was welcomed back despite the failed move.
The Lakers announced that the Hornets did not meet the conditions of the trade and that Williams failed to meet his physical exams out of multiple issues during the transaction’s finalization process.
In an official statement on X (Formerly Twitter) right after the deal got voided, the Hornets expressed enthusiasm about their reunion with Williams, noting that they are excited to see how he will contribute to them once again.
“We are excited to welcome Mark back to our Hornets organization, After the other team aggressively pursued Mark, we made the difficult decision to move him.”
“We have always held great respect for Mark’s talent, work ethic and character. We are thrilled to see him rejoin our roster as a dynamic presence at the starting center position. His return strengthens our team, and we look forward to the impact he will make on and off the court.”
