Iorfa Warns Against Links to NFF Presidency

General Manager of Kano based)9)0Barau Football Club, Kano, Dominic Iorfa, has rejected reports linking him to the presidency of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), describing the campaign as an attempt to emotionally blackmail and create unnecessary tension around his person.

Iorfa, in a statement, accused Lobi Media Director Emmanuel Ujah and his assistant, Alexander Achigbe, of promoting the narrative that he should be appointed NFF president.

According to him, the development was surprising, particularly given what he described as the duo’s previous opposition to his administration during his time at Lobi Stars.

Iorfa alleged that Ujah and Achigbe were among those who supported the formation of a group known as the “Benue Football Stakeholders,” which he claimed was established to undermine his efforts at the club.

He questioned the relevance of the group following his departure from Lobi Stars, saying he was able to overcome the challenges through resilience, professionalism and his experience in football administration.

“You cannot be an arch-enemy yesterday and suddenly become an advocate today,” Iorfa said, describing the development as sycophancy and a calculated attempt to create rancour between him, his colleagues and friends.

The former Lobi Stars administrator stressed that he remains satisfied with his current position as General Manager of Barau FC Kano and has neither authorised nor asked anyone to campaign for him for the NFF presidency or any other position within the federation.

Iorfa subsequently urged Ujah and Achigbe to stop publishing or circulating materials linking him to the NFF presidency or any position within the federation.

He expressed concern that such reports could be misrepresented on social media, creating the impression that he had granted interviews or made statements that he never made.

Iorfa further warned that any unauthorised or malicious publication linking him to any position without his express consent could lead him to seek legal redress.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the unity and development of Nigerian football, adding that his immediate priority is to justify the confidence reposed in him by his principal, Deputy Senate President and Grand Patron of Barau FC Kano, through integrity, professionalism and dedication to the club.
