On a day she thrashed Serena Williams to set up a fixture against Victoria Azarenka in the second round, the current champion of the US Open, Emma Raducanu produced another very exceptional performance to ease past Victoria Azarenka in the Western and Southern open in Cincinnati.
The first set was completely one sided as Raducanu gave amazing numbers. She converted 3 break points of her opponent and then went on to save a game point, thus winning the set 6:0 .
The second set almost saw a repeat of the first set as Raducanu went up 3:0 in the first three games played, breaking Azarenka’s service in the process. Azarenka however managed to win her next two game serves, but the hot and blazing Raducanu didn’t drop a single break point, winning the second set 6:2.
Emma Raducanu will next face world number 8, Jessica Pegula on Thursday by 16:00 GMT+1 in the round of 16.
