Camp of the Nigeria Senior Men’s Basketball Team, D’Tigers is set to open on Saturday in Ivory Coast ahead of the fourth window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.
This was made available to the general public by the coach of the team, Mike Brown while speaking with the NBBF media. Brown explained the decision to open up early to up preparations for their campaign and secure a place in the basketball world cup.
“We are trying to get there earlier to see whether we can have a few more practice games and to see whether we can get ready to perform at a little higher level in game one. In the last window, things were put together at the last second and we went there right before the first game”.
“Hopefully, with us getting there a little earlier, getting three or four practices under our belt, it will show a little bit of difference when it comes to playing the games”. Mi The American-born gaffer told NBBF media.
The D’Tigers will open their campaign against host- Cote d’Ivoire on Friday, the 26 before squaring up with Guinea a day after. While on Sunday, 28 August, the team will face Angola.
