Nigerian Youngster Continues With Celtic

Ireland-born Nigerian defender Bosun Lawal has decided to pen a contract extension until the summer of 2026 with his Scottish-based club side.

The 20-year-old sensation who plays for Ireland Under-21 arrived in Glasgow in 2021 after having several years in his belts in the Academy cadre of English Championship side, Watford but since then has continued his development as part of the Celtic FC B squad.

After an impressive beginning with the reserved team, he was promoted to the first-team set-up and debuted for the club in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup against Greenock Morton earlier this year, however, also helped his side lift the Glasgow Cup at Ibrox last campaign.

The Scottish Premiership champions, however, in a statement announced that Lawal will now go on a season-long loan to English League One side, Fleetwood Town.
