The time for the crunch second leg fixture of the CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round between 2023 Algerian league Cup winners, Aso Chlef and Bendel Insurance FC of Benin has been adjusted.
In what looks like a dramatic late change, Aso Chlef announced on their Twitter page that due to technical issues in the Salem Mabrouki stadium in Rouibo, Algiers, the match will now be played at 5 PM Nigerian time as against the 8:30 PM initially fixed.
According to the official statement, Aso Chlef said “Due to the presence of a defect at the level of the searchlights and their lack of readiness by 100%, the African Union decided to change the timing of tomorrow’s meeting between our team, “Olympic Chlef Algeria” and “Bendel Insurance of Nigerian”, where the signal for its start will be given officially at five in the evening (17:00) at the Salem Mabrouki stadium in Rouiba (Algiers), instead of half past eight at night (20:30) as it was previously programmed.
Bendel Insurance will go into the game with a 1-0 advantage from the first leg which was held last Saturday in Benin City, Nigeria.
