…Ine Stars, Victoria FC Return to Winning Ways
Day 1 of the match Week 2 of the 2026 Benin City Youth League recorded twelve goals, four wins as BJ Foundation Football Club maintains a perfect start as Okuta FC, Ine Stars and Victoria FC recorded victories in their respective games, keeping football lovers on their seats at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital mini stadium from dawn to dusk
The first game of Week Two saw BJ Foundation Football Club continue their impressive start to the new season with a slim victory over United Sparrow Football Academy.
Austine Matthew did not allow Sparrow to settle into the game as he found the back of the net in the 5th minute to give his side an early lead. Blessed Omaseyi later restored parity for United Sparrow with a timely equaliser, but Yakubu Ashiru scored the decisive goal in the 59th minute to seal another win for BJ Foundation FC.
In the second match, Ine Stars FC and Alhaji FC were both searching for their first win of the season, but it was Ine Stars who emerged victorious. Friday Omoregie opened the scoring in the 12th minute, while Osaro Ehigie equalised ten minutes later to end the first half level. Lucky Akowe then scored what proved to be the winning goal one minute before the hour mark, handing Ine Stars their first victory of the season, while Alhaji FC will continue their search for a win in Week Three.

The third game of the day saw Genesis Football Club lose narrowly to Victoria FC, courtesy of Anthony Ogude’s solitary strike in the 21st minute. The win was Victoria FC’s first of the season and takes them to four points from two games, while Genesis FC will aim to bounce back in their next fixture.
The final match of Day One of Week Two ended dramatically in a five-goal thriller between Etto FC and Okuta FC. Both teams entered the match with renewed confidence after recording a win and a draw respectively in the opening weekend.
After an end-to-end opening half hour, Okuta FC broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute through playmaker Piopio Jubril. Five minutes later, Eghosa Austine doubled their lead as Okuta held a comfortable advantage heading into the second half.
Etto FC came back strongly after the break, and their efforts paid off in the 51st minute when Precious Gabriel pulled one back. Etto continued to press and were rewarded again with 17 minutes remaining as Precious Gabriel completed his brace to level the score.
However, with ten minutes left to play, Osakpolor Ugbor scored the winner for Okuta FC, sending their fans into wild jubilation.
Following the results, Etto FC remain on three points, while Okuta FC move up to four points after two games. Up next, BJ Foundation FC will face Ine Stars, while Okuta FC will trade tackles with WestGate FC.
