With the 2021-22 campaign already a fading memory, the thoughts of top-flight football clubs in Nigeria naturally turn not only to the transfer window but also to the biggest pre-season tournament of the year, the “ValueJet NPFL Preseason Tournament”
According to Abayomi Ademetan earlier on Sunday, August 14, 2022, the coordinator of the ValueJet NPFL Pre-season Tournament, Mr. Badawiy Bashir confirmed the participation of 12 football teams from across the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and the Nigeria National League (NNL).
The 12 confirmed teams are Plateau United, Lobi Stars, Remo Stars, Gateway United, Sunshine Stars, Niger Tornadoes, Vandrezzer FC, Kwara United, Ijebu United, Shooting Stars Sports Club, Bayelsa United and Bendel Insurance.
The participating teams will compete for glory and mouthwatering cash prizes as the winner of this year’s edition of the ValueJet Cup will go home with a total of Two Million Naira (₦2,000,000), the first runners-up will be rewarded with a cash prize of One Million Naira (₦1,000,000), and third place, Five Hundred Thousand Naira (₦500,000).
The tournament will kick off on August 24th and end on September 3rd, 2022 at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.
