BJ Foundation Football Club of Benin has emerged as champions of the 2024 Edo State Bet9ja Super League.
Despite suffering a 2-1 defeat to Rolly FC in the last match of the tournament, BJ FC maintained their leadership position on the log to set a record that will take more than three years to equal, if they fail to win in those period
The team emerged champions after outwitting five other teams after accruing the highest number of points — 6 points, to best Rolly Football Club who got 5 points and Worshipper Football Club got 3 points
BJ Foundation FC has now won it for the fourth time, becoming the record winner of the competition with Mission side and Uniben FC claiming one edition each.
Meanwhile, Sammy Otasowie and Ernest Ojelum of Rolly FC emerged as Best Young Player and Most Valuable Player, respectively.
Speaking after the tournament, the organizer who doubles as the chairman of Ovia North-East Edo FA Chairman, Mr. Roland Inonoje, expressed his excitement at the successful hosting of the tournament and especially thanked the sponsors of the tournament.
