Nigeria’s football striker, Victor Osimhen, has earned a spot among the elite as one of the top 10 nominees for the CAF Player of the Year Award, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
Earlier in November, CAF released a provisional list of 30 outstanding players in contention for the CAF POTY awards. Subsequently, the list underwent a refinement process, shortlisting it to the final 10 nominees. The finalized list includes Zambo Anguissa, Riyad Mahrez, Vincent Aboubakar, Achraf Hakimi, Sofyan Amarabat, Yassine Bounou, Yousef en-Neusiri, Victor Osimhen, Sadio Mane, and Mohammed Salah.
The eventual winner of the CAF awards will be determined through a voting process involving a diverse panel, consisting of the CAF Technical Committee, `media professionals, Head Coaches, and Captains of Member Associations, whose votes will ascertain the recipient of the honour.
Marking a significant event in the football calendar, the Awards Gala is scheduled to take place on Monday, 11th December 2023, at the Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech, Morocco.
