Joseph Junior Atule produced an excellent performance on Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium as Enyimba FC condemned Black Bullets of Mozambique to a 4-1 defeat.
The Prolific winger scored twice and produced an assist on the day as the People’s Elephants rallied for hope in Group D of the 2024/2025 season of the CAF Confederations Cup.
Joseph Atule opened the scoring in the 6th minute for the Aba-based side before Ejaita Ifoni equalized for Black Bullets six minutes later to pile up press for Enyimba FC, who desperately needed victory.
Ifeanyi Ihemekwele, however, came up clutch for Enyimba at the stroke of halftime by scoring Enyimba unto the lead off a beautiful pass from Elijah Akanni.
Joseph Atule provided an assist for a newcomer/ former Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye, who scored his team’s third goal in the 67th minute before Atule, who was later awarded man of the match, scored his second goal in the 90th minute.
With this victory, Enyimba FC will need to win their remaining two matches to qualify for the Quarterfinals. Next, they’ll face Al-Masry Next week at home before going to Egypt for their final group game to face Zamalek on the 19th of January.
