The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has conducted the African Nations Championship (CHAN) group. stage draws today in Algeria
With the 18 teams for this year’s competition, the draws on Saturday evening now mean we can now look forward to the action getting started on January 13.
It’s all set to be yet another memorable edition of the CHAN tournament and the continent’s best home-based team can now begin plotting their route to the final in Algeria.
In Group A, host nation Algeria is paired with Libya, Ethiopia and Mozambique.
Group B is occupied by two-time winners DR Congo, Uganda, Cote D’Ivoire and Senegal.
Ghana who knocked out Nigeria in the qualifiers have been drawn in Group C alongside holders Morocco, two-time bronze winners Sudan and debutants Madagascar.
Group D and Group E consist of just three teams. Mali, Angola and Mauritania are in Group D, while Cameroon, Congo and Niger are in Group E.
The competition will be played in Algeria from 13 January to 4 February 2023.
Morroco are the defending champions of the tournament which they won in Cameroon defeating Mali in 2020
