It ended in a 1-1 draw between late entrants Pharmacy and Merrymen in the last game of matchday 1 of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital Chief Medical Director Inter-professional tournament, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
With the CMD of UBTH, Professor Darlington Obaseki present, Pharmacy had to fight from a goal down to nick a point against Merry Men who had taken the lead in the first half. Egbo James netted the first goal of the day for Merry Men in a stylish manner to convincingly put his side ahead.
The second half, saw Pharmacy come out with an attacking force to level and try to win the game. This however paid off in the 57th minute as Monday equalised on a Tuesday evening throwing the supporters in the stand into full celebratory mode.
Efforts to find a winner proved to be abortive as Merrymen had a goal chalked off for offside. Matchday two will begin on Wednesday, December 13, at the UBTH mini stadium by 3:30 pm with NNPC taking on Bankers.
