The Falconets of Nigeria continued their fine form in the U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica after defeating South Korea 0-1 at the Estadio Alajuela Morera Soto.
With the team dominating the first half of play, various chances were created by both teams but either side could not seem to find the opener to set the pace of the game.
Coming from the break, the South Koreans began to mount pressure on the Falconets but they soon respond with shots from Esther Onyenezide forcing wonderful saves from Kepler Kim.
Onyenezides Efforts on goal soon pay off as she got the lone goal from a stunning long-range strike to beat the keeper into the back of the net.
This helped the Falconets secure their second win in the tournament as they prepare to face Canada on August 18.
