The 21st National Sports Festival earlier scheduled to open on November 2nd in Delta State has been postponed.
In a letter signed by the secretary of the Main Organising Committee, Mr Peter Nelson, the postponement was communicated to all commissioners and directors of sports across the 36 states in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory.
The postponement is due to the fact, there are still ongoing works in various facilities that would host events during the 13-day-tournament.
The tournament ought to have begun November 2, with the opening ceremony on Nov 4, and the closing of the games village on Nov 15, 2022. However, the tournament will now hold from the 28th of November till the 10th of December, 2022.
