After an impressive one-and-half-year stint with Bendel Insurance, Deputy Echeta has bid farewells to the now-former club side despite a new adventure across the shores of Nigeria.
Echeta, who played a good part in the Benin Arsenals’ historic 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Football League season with 4 goals and an assist, was crucial to the team’s Federation Cup triumph after 43 years and also helped them secure a continental ticket last term, has been granted permission to leave on a mutual basis.
The sleeky forward joined Bendel Insurance from Giant Brillars in the second stanza of the 2021/22 Nigerian National League and is now on the verge of securing a move abroad.
However, his lone goal versus Nasarawa United at the new Jos Stadium during the last NPFL regular season was nominated for the club’s 2022/23 goal of the season, which he received a pass in the box and slotted the ball above the goalkeeper from close range.
Echeta made four appearances for Bendel Insurance in the NPFL Super Six playoffs in Lagos. He, however, failed to record a goal during the competition.
