Eagles Will Be A Tough Nut To Crack In Ivory Coast – Rufai

Ex-Nigeria International Peter Rufai believes that the Super Eagles will be one of the strong forces any team would want to contend with at the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

Recall that Nigeria recently concluded their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying rounds with an emphatic 6-0 win over Sao Tome and Principe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, and finished at the summit of Group A with 15 points; recording the most number of goals scored (22) by a team at the qualification series.

However, the 1994 AFCON winner and veteran shot-stopper said that the Super Eagles will be one of the difficult teams to beat at the tournament while complementing the crop of top-notch talented players at Jose Peseiro’s disposal.

“I am very delighted with the general performance of the Super Eagles against Sao Tome and in the group. This is just what Nigerians want to see, goals and goals.

“But critically looking at the team, I want to believe that they will be a tough nut to crack at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Nigeria have quality players at the moment and I am optimistic they will go far in Ivory Coast.” Rufai stated.
