The Edo State FA Cup 2025 continued with interesting matchups as Benin Red Soil FC and Brave Heart Ladies secured thrilling wins to advance to the semi-finals.
Benin Red Soil FC 2-0 Tiki Taka FC

The first game of the day kicked off with an exciting match-up between Benin Red Soil FC vs. Tiki Taka FC. The all-female referee team also added a unique touch to the game, as well as the supporters, who lit up the atmosphere with cheers and chatter.
The first half was one-sided and saw Benin Red Soil dominate possession, creating several chances early in the game. Finally, their persistence paid off when a freekick taken by Uzowuren Esther connected with Obibo Marvellous right in the box, and she shot it straight into the net to give her side a 1-0 lead. On the other hand, Tiki Taka FC found it difficult to breach the defensive line of Benin Red Soil. Despite creating several other chances, they weren’t clinical enough to add up to their goal tally, ending the first half 1-0.
The second half began for Benin Red Soil, with improved momentum. While Tiki Taka continued to search for a goal, Benin Red Soil scored the second goal through a header from Ogboi Sucess. Tiki Taka managed only a few shots on goal as the game ended 2-0 in favour of Benin Red Soil.

Debutant Ogboi Sucess expressed her excitement, saying, “It’s my first time playing in the F. A cup, and I thank my coach and teammates for their support. Teamwork and cooperation helped me get the Woman of the Match award.

Benin Red Soil’s coach, Eigbe Odianosen, also praised his team’s intelligence and ability in the second-half performance, acknowledging their first-half poor display.
Brave Heart Ladies 1-0 Bravoos FC
Goal: Zuberu Ramat 42′
In another game, Brave Heart Ladies were brave enough to edge Bravoos FC with a slim victory. During the first half of the game, Bravoos FC was more offensive, pressing and searching for a goal in the game, but Brave Heart balanced up later in the game. The first half saw both sides create scoring opportunities, but neither side could capitalize on it.
The breakthrough came for Brave Heart in the second half when they scored from a corner kick, courtesy of Zuberu Ramat’s beautiful header to put them 1-0 up. Bravos FC pushed hard for an equaliser but fell shot.

WOTM: Telumu Tabitha- Bravoos FC
Despite Bravoos FC’s loss, Telumu Tabitha took home the Woman of the Match Award.
“We’ve lost to Brave Heart FC before, and it’s disappointing to lose again. She also expressed her gratitude to her teammates as she earned the award. Coach Joel Royal of Brave Heart expressed his delight with the win, stating that it has given them increased momentum ahead of their next game.
