Julius Aghahowa Super Cup: Eagle Wings trade tackles with Rockers FC as Rolly FC ambush BJ FC for the final place.

All is set as the Julius Aghahowa Super Cup as the Maiden Edition kicks off today in Benin City.

Four teams will square up against each other for various opportunities on the ground in the competition set up by the great ex-super eagle player.

In the first match scheduled for noon today at the Eagle Wings Football complex, Eagle Wings will match up against Rockers Football Club of Ogida barracks while the second match is scheduled for 2 pm between NLO side, Rolly FC and BJ Foundation.

Eagle Wings will be out for revenge against Rockers FC who beat them 1-0 in the Benin City Youth League. The Darlington boys will count on the Tega who stood out in the 2022 league season. Harry is another guy who can help his team get past their opponents, though he couldn’t bring his haygame to the fore in the season’s encounter.

As for Rockers, they will fancy their chances of making it two in two over their opponents in this competition. Coach Chinedu seems to have the opponents’ key to beat them and he will count on Nosa Agho, Nosa Osunde and Isaac Justice to do justice to their opponents once again as they did in the league.

Prediction: Eagle Wings to progress by a slim margin.

Rolly FC vs BJ FC
The grasses are meant to suffer when these two sides take to the pitch at 2 pm at the Eagle Wings Football complex pitch.

There was no victor or vanquish when the two sides met earlier in the Youth League as they shared the spoils in a barren encounter.

Rolly though have League (NLO) experience, they will have their work cut out when BJ faces them. BJ will look to bank on Adebayo Samson and Eribo Osas who initiates attacks from his left-back position and his pace would be what Rolly will work to curtail if getting a favourable result is anything they desire. Uche Epete is another big threat Rolly will surely work to fight against when both sides face off.

Rolly FC on their own will count on midfield maestro, Lasisi Hassan to help hold things in the middle of the pack and bank on Raymond Ekenoba, the highest goals scorer at the just concluded season to soar above Dragons.

Prediction: With the league experience of the Lions, they should have their way against BJ by 2-1 and set up the final match against Eagle Wings, on Sunday.

The winners will advance to the final while the losers will settle things in the loser’s final on Sunday, October 30.

The Chief host, Julius ‘AghaWonder’ Aghahowa is expected to be on the ground for the matches where he would use his experience in clubs and the national team to talk to the participating players, about how best they can become what they want to become.
