The Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer of Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO), Dr Godwin Ehigiamusoe PhD, have lauded the organisers of the annual Sportsville Special Recognition Awards, describing it as a great initiative that will have a positive effect on Nigeria’s sports ecosystem.
Dr Ehigiamusoe, who was one of the Special Guests of Honour in last year’s event spoke of his impression of the ceremony.
“Honestly, I left the hall satisfied with what I saw, kudos for the great job you are doing.
“I am happy that people like you are thinking out of the box and taking great initiatives like the organisation of this awards ceremony.
“I am also happy that you have kept faith with it year after year, this is what drives business growth: consistency!

“Young men of nowadays are too much in a hurry to make it hence they leave out the fundamentals like planning and sustaining the business,” the astute businessman, who nurtured LAPO from a humble beginning to one of the biggest Microfinance banks in Sub-Saharan Africa, added.
The soft-spoken business mogul went on to advise young entrepreneurs to take time to build their brands and be different!
“Building brands takes perseverance but it pays off at the end of the day. So take your time to build this great initiative of celebrating sportsmen and women, the pay day is ahead,” the Edo State-born entrepreneur and philanthropist, who also runs the biggest medical facility in Benin City, the Benin Medical Complex, advised.
Dr Ehigiamusoe has also promised to attend this year’s ceremony coming up on Friday, April 3rd at the Lagos Country Club, GRA, Lagos under the Chairmanship of Dr Larry Izamoje.
