New Draw Scheduled as AS Garde Club Withdraws from WAFU B Qualifiers

The WAFU B Qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League have taken an unforeseen turn with the withdrawal of AS Garde National Club from Niger.

The reasons behind this decision have been communicated in a formal letter addressed to the management of UFOA-B.

Platinum News earlier published the reason for the withdrawal because of the closure of land and air borders of Niger due to the political turmoil in the landlocked country.

As a direct result of this withdrawal, organizers have announced a significant alteration to the proceedings. A new draw is now set to take place this Friday, August 18, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the iconic Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

The winner of the WAFU-B tourney will represent the zone at the CAF Women’s Champions League slated to hold next year.
