NFF Convenes Statute Reforming Extraordinary Assembly

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will soon convene an extraordinary General Assembly to deliberate on proposed amendments to its statutes, according to its president, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

The statutes, which have remained unchanged since 2010, govern the federation’s structure, membership, and operations.

According to BSNSports, Gusau revealed that initial consultations with FIFA have already been held, including a recent seminar that highlighted possible areas for review.

“Of course, governance and ethics provisions are untouchable because of FIFA’s strict regulations,” Gusau noted, but he expressed confidence that other areas could be modernised.

He added that once consultations are concluded, the NFF will call an extraordinary congress to adopt necessary reforms, though no date has been fixed yet.
