The Super Eagles of Nigeria remain static in the latest ranking for men’s international football teams by the Federation of International Football Associations, FIFA, Platinum News is reporting.
The Super Eagles utilised the recent March FIFA windows to keep themselves in shape ahead of future international engagements and give room to newly invited players to make their debut but remained in the ranking released Wednesday evening.
The Super Eagles in the first match of the international break defeated 20th placed Iran 2-1 in Antalya, Turkiye —a game many thought would catapult the AFCCON 2025 Bronze medallists to at least a place above their current 26th place.
The Super Eagles however flawed the hope by playing a 2 all draw against 64th placed Jordan who now jump one place after earning +1.18 points from their famous draw against the Super Eagles.
The draw left Nigeria unmoved on the ranking table with 1585.09 points, appreciating from the previous points by 3 points
Meanwhile, Morocco’s win against Paraguay and draw with Ecuador keep them in the number one spot in Africa and sit 8th in the world; Senegal despite defeating Peru and The Gambia, drops two places to 14th in the world, but still retains the second spot in Africa.
Algeria remains fourth in Africa, occupying 28th position in the world. Egypt moved two places up in the world ranking to keep the fifth place in Africa.
Completing Africa’s top ten are Cote Divoire (34th), Tunisia (44th), Cameroon (45) Democratic Republic of Congo, which moved two places to jump to 46th position in the world; Mali jumped two places to 52nd in the world and completes the top ten in Africa.
