The proposed money-spinning Super 4 Nigeria Professional Football League preseason tournament involving four traditional clubs in the NPFL 2022/2023 season has been shifted to another date.

The date adjustment was due to logistics reasons according to a letter sent to the four clubs involved.

Recall that the Super Four with a 100 million naira prize tag was scheduled to hold from December 1st to 4th, 2022 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos, but with the reason stated in the letter, it has now been rescheduled to take place from 6th to 9th, 2022, at the same venue.

The letter dated 28th November 2022 as signed by NPFL head of the competition department, Dr. Sunday Johnson Obaseki reads:

“Following logistics constraints beyond our control, the 2022 NPFL/Dozy Mmobuosi Foundation Super Cup Preseason Tournament has been rescheduled for Tuesday 6th and Friday 9th December 2022 at Mobolaji Johnson Arena (Onikan Stadium), Lagos State.”

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused.”

Winners of the tournament will go home with the total cash prize with each club getting 10 million naira in appearance fees.

The participating teams are Enyimba International FC, Rangers International of Enugu, Bendel Insurance FC of Benin and Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan.
