Unknown gunmen targeted the Sunshine Stars Football Club’s bus, resulting in a violent attack on Thursday evening. The assault occurred as the team traveled to Benin City for the Nigeria Premier Football League match against Bendel Insurance FC.

Reports indicated that shots were fired at the team’s bus, causing injuries to the team manager, Mr. Seun Betiku, and another team official whose identity remains unconfirmed.

Mr. Michael Akintunde, the team’s Media Officer, confirmed the unfortunate incident in an official statement on Thursday evening.
