NWFL24: Glory Osaghae nets hat-trick in Edo Queens Triumph Over Ekiti Queens


Glory Osaghae’s impressive hat trick secured Edo Queens’ commanding victory over Ekiti Queens, maintaining their top spot in the Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership Group B standings, platinumnewsng.com is reporting

The Benin-based team triumphed 3-1 with Glory Osaghae scoring all three goals. The forward who was making her first start of the season showcased brilliance, striking in the 44th, 49th, and 82nd minutes to seal the win.

Just before halftime, resilient Osaghae capitalised on a rebound from her initial shot, ultimately beating Ekiti Queens’ goalkeeper, Andy Lucky.

In the second half, only four minutes into the game, Osaghae skillfully finished a through pass from Esther Moses by lobbing the goalkeeper, extending Edo Queens’ lead.

However, Ekiti Queens managed to narrow the deficit in the 79th minute when Omede Rachael found the net from a cross delivered from a free kick taken by Ohaeri Miracle.

Osaghae, in the 82nd minute, brilliantly completed her hat-trick, deceiving the Ekiti Queens’ goalkeeper, securing a comfortable two-goal lead for Edo Queens.

This stellar performance earned Osaghae the match ball, marking her first start of the season with an outstanding display. Edo Queens remain top of the NWFL Premiership Group B with 9 points.
