OFFICIAL: Gombe United unveils new Head Coach

NPFL team, Gombe United FC have unveiled Muhammad Babaganaru as their new head coach.

The experienced tactician who managed Lobi Stars last season replaces former manager, Aliyu Zubairu, who left his position to rejoin El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri.

Babagaguru signed a two-year contract with the Savannah Scorpions and is expected to add his wealth of experience to build a title-challenging team. Babaganaru has previously managed Nasarawa United, Wikki Tourists, El-Kanemi Warriors and Kano Pillars where he won the league title in 2023.

During his unveiling at the club secretariat, Coach Babagaguru assured fans that the club would be competitive under his management. He said, “To the supporters and people of Gombe state, there shouldn’t be so much expectation on the team, Building a new team isn’t a day’s affair, we need to be patient and prayerful with time, Gombe United will be competitive.”

Gombe United’s first action of the new season will be a fixture against Sporting Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos Onikan on September 16.
