In its continued push for the success of grassroots sports development and athletes’ success, Edo state’s foremost sports news publication platform, Platinum News has gone into partnership with Benin City Youth League.

The partnership is aimed at promoting the league with weekly updates on the matches, teams and players’ performances as well as camp updates from the twenty participating teams.

Platinum News CEO, Ayoola Adeleke, represented by Kennedy Ugbodaga, while presenting the company’s replica jersey as a sign of endorsement, expressed pleasure in the partnership because it aligns with the company’s core focus. Mansa Ayoola noted that Platinum News will give her all to ensure the league and the talents in it are given adequate publicity to attract suiting clubs at home and in abroad.

“Beyond informing the general public about happenings in sports, Platinum News cherishes giving unknown young athletes the media presence and showcasing their talents to potential partners, sponsors and clients.” “We want the world to know that Edo State is rich with raw talents who only need the right refinement and opportunities to shine on the global stage.”

In response to the statement, the chairman of the league, Mr Douglas Idahosa thanked Platinum News for the interest it showed in the league —a renewal of what the platform did at the birth of the league. “You have been with us from the beginning and we know the capacity Platinum News pulls in sports promotion and awareness and we are glad we are back on the same table.

Benin Warriors Football Club sits at the top of the table after one match day with three points and four goals registered in their first game. Other teams with 3 points are Genesis Football Club, Rolly Football Club, Dynamo Academica, Etto Football Club and BJ Foundation.

Hostilities continue in match day two on March 23 at the S&T Barracks with international scouts expected to be on the ground to scout players.s
