…Says he’s a rare breed with exceptional competence
Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, Sunday, joined other eminent personalities from within Nigeria and beyond to grace the early morning interdenominational church service in commemoration of the 88th birthday anniversary of the Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion.
The service which was held at the palatial garden of Eden residence of the celebrant in Benin City, had the President, of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji, who delivered the sermon titled: ” Because He Lives”, the theme of this year’s celebration, said the Esama has done very well for the development of humanity.
In his remarks, the Deputy Governor in a letter of felicitation personally signed, extolled the virtues of the Esama of Benin, noting that “your modest achievements in life these past 88 years distinguished you as a rare breed with exceptional competence, capacity and indomitable spirit of excellence”.
Shaibu further said: “indeed, you are a leading light, beacon of hope and source of inspiration to your generation as well as the future generation of our dear country, Nigeria”.
He added: “as you trudge on in life and age gracefully, it is my sincere prayers that God Almighty will continue to imbue you with divine blessings in good health, sound mind and long life”, Shaibu noted.
The high point of the service was a special thanksgiving by the Esama, accompanied by his wife and matriarch of the House of Igbinedion, Lady Cherry lgbinedion.
