Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, Wednesday hosted a send-forth party in honour of the retired Chief Accountant in his office, Dr. Augustine Uyi Igbineweka.

The lavish event which held at the expansive conference hall, Office of the Deputy Governor, attracted staff, family members, and friends of the lgbinewekas.

Igbineweka retired from active service recently upon attaining the statutory 60 years in the public service of Edo State.

In his speech at the event, the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu commended Igbineweka for his diligence and dedication to duty while in active service.

“Igbineweka is a humble and hardworking man. Even in the face of pressure, he is calm and very composed”.

“We thank God for your life and family. We pray God will guide, bless and prosper you in all your future endeavors”.

“Know that we are with you and I believe you are available to share your experience anytime we call on you”.

“We pray that God will be with you and provide for you so that you can continue to serve humanity”.

Shaibu thanked everyone present at the occasion while praying that “you will also witness a day like this in good health and sound mind”.

Earlier in her introductory remarks, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Bose Joy lgbinobaro, appreciated the Deputy Governor for giving the retired Chief Accountant a befitting honour.

She noted, “l want to thank our Deputy Governor for his show of love and magnanimity towards staff welfare”.

“Your Excellency, this kind of gesture is a big morale booster for those of us still in active service. Let me thank you for your support and approval for this great ceremony”, Igbinobaro added.

In their goodwill messages on behalf of the staff, Chief Press Secretary, CPS to the Deputy Governor, Comrade Ebomhiana Musa; Public Relations Officer, Pst. Austin Otas-Osegbe; including Ms. Precious Obehi Akeme and the Officer in charge of Oracle, both of the Accounts Department, eulogized the retiree for his leadership qualities and professional competence.

In the words of Comrade Musa, ” lgbineweka is a gentleman of great virtue and discipline. He is calm, diligent, punctual, and committed to hard work in discharging his official duties”.

Responding, lgbineweka expressed delight at the honour done to him by the Deputy Governor.

According to him, “Your Excellency Sir, l thank God for today. I must also appreciate you and your amiable wife and indeed, all the staff of this office for this great honour. May God Almighty continue to bless you and your family in Jesus’ name”, he said.

The event had in attendance, top management team members, including the Chief of Staff, Office of the Deputy Governor, Hon. Imonofi lnusa; Permanent Secretary, Edo State Sports Commission, Mrs. Sabina Chikere; Director of Administration & Supplies, Ms. Faith lrabor; Ag. Chief Accountant, Peter Okosun amongst other sectional heads, Office of the Deputy Governor.

The high point was the presentation of gifts to the retired Chief Accountant by the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu and photograph session with Igbineweka and his wife, amidst pomp.
