…says PDP on a rescue mission to salvage Nigeria
Edo StateDeputy Governor, Rt.Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu has received defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC), from Owan West Local Government Area into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The defectors were led to the Government House by the PDP House of Assembly Candidate for Owan West, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and All Progressives Congress (APC) Assistant Organizing Secretary in the Local Government, Mr. Thomas Ale
According to Ale, “we decided to leave the APC to join a progressive party like the PDP as a result of the solidarity shown by the Deputy Governor to the good people of Owan over the years”.
Receiving the defectors, Shaibu said he was elated to receive them into the progressive fold, which is on a rescue mission to salvage Nigeria from the hands of those whose desire is to build on the current APC-led Federal Government of unending poverty, insecurity, high inflation, naira devaluation and other social menaces.
According to Shaibu, “the defection is the beginning of a movement that will sweep victory for the PDP from the national to the state level in the February 2023 general elections”.
“You’re welcome to the PDP. Together, we will change the face of Nigeria and Edo State in general. This is the time to rescue the country from the hands of a man who preached change to us without looking at those he was brought on board if they represent positive change”.
“This time, we do not want a President who will go to Aso Rock to experiment or go there to look at the beauty of the Presidential Villa. We are going to vote for the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, who already has the experience to lead Nigeria and set the pace for the younger generation”, Shaibu added.
Some of the defectors include some members of the Labour Party (LP), in the Local Government.
