The Nigeria Professional Football League club, Abia Warriors have confirmed their goalkeeping department’s fate in the sole hands of Ike Shorunmu as their new shot-stopper’s coach.
The former Super Eagles goalie’s appointment was announced by the Umuahia-based side chairman, John Obuh in a press briefing witnessed by the members of management.
Obuh said the decision to perch tents with the ex-Nigeria international was on the state of his vast experience and antecedence with the hope that his inclusion in the club will be a power factor.
The 55-year-old veteran who was once the goalkeeper’s trainer at Shooting Stars, Enyimba and Heartland, also recently served at the helm of affairs with the Super Eagles said that he settled for Abia Warriors based on personal conviction and expressed confidence that the team will achieve greater success this season.
