Dr Mrs. Esther Oluwatoyin Aluko, one of the nominees for this year’s Sportsville Special Recognition Award, has expressed her deep honour and gratitude at being considered for the prestigious Sportsville Award.
Dr Aluko was among the nominees listed for the 6th edition of the Sportsville Special Recognition Awards coming up on March 28th at the Lagos Country Club, in Lagos.
In her acceptance letter, the President of the Nigeria Netball Federation and the Association of Former Female Athletes of Nigeria (AFFAN) said the Sportsville Award means a great deal to her and expressed joy at the rare recognition.
“I am deeply honoured and sincerely grateful to receive the Sportville Special Recognition Award,” begins the former Netball player.
“This recognition is not only a celebration of my personal journey but also a tribute to the many mentors, colleagues, athletes, administrators, and partners who have walked this path with me.
“Whatever impact my contributions may have made in sports development has been possible because of the collective commitment of passionate individuals who believe in the transformative power of sport.
“I accept this award with humility and renewed dedication to continue serving the sporting community with integrity, excellence, and purpose.
“Sport remains a powerful tool for youth empowerment, national unity, and women’s advancement, and I remain fully committed to its growth and sustainability.
“My sincere appreciation goes to the organisers of the annual Sportville Awards for this special recognition and for consistently promoting and celebrating excellence in sports,” added the easy-going sports administrator who is currently serving as the national Course Director for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Sports Administration Course.
The year’s edition of the awards, the 6th in the series, will be chaired by Dr Larry Izamoje, the Chairman of Brila FM Group.
