Former Super Eagles Coach, Sunday Oliseh has officially called it quits with German Regionalliga team SV Straelen, two months after signing to tinker the club.
The former Fortuna Sittard coach resigned after losing his fifth consecutive league game this season, the last coming against Fortuna Düsseldorf II 2-0 last weekend.
The 47-year-old according to SV Straelen’s official website on Saturday informed President Hermann Tecklenburg, who is currently in Mallorca, about his resignation by telephone.
The club sporting director, director Kevin Wolze announced had gathered for training at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
“Sunday obviously had the feeling that the team could no longer be reached. We have to accept this decision. It doesn’t make sense to try to persuade him to continue.”
“In the next few days, we will be receiving several applications. The players and I focus on the sporting side. After the cup game, the top favourite Preussen Munster comes to us. We don’t have the opportunity to worry about other things,” said Wolze.
The Olympic gold medalist had previous stints with Verviers FC and RCS VISE of the Belgian 3rd Division, the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Fortuna Sittard.
