The duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Victor Osimhen has been ruled out of the upcoming international friendly match against Mozambique, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
The update from the team’s camp in Faro, Portugal, reveals that Osimhen and Iheanacho have left the Super Eagles camp since Saturday.
Osimhen, who suffered a hamstring injury during the recent 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia, has returned to his base in Italy. He was replaced in the Saudi Arabia match by Terem Moffi in the second half due to his injury.
Iheanacho, who played a crucial role in the game against Saudi Arabia by scoring the second goal, will also miss the upcoming friendly. He has been excused from the match due to personal reasons.
As a result, Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro now has only three centre-forwards at his disposal: Terem Moffi, Victor Boniface, and Sadiq Umar.
The friendly against the Mambas of Mozambique is scheduled for Monday by 4pm Nigerian time.
