Super Eagles Soar Four Places in Latest FIFA Ranking

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have jumped four places in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings, moving from 45th place to 41st, platinumnewsng.com is reporting

Two wins for the Super Eagles in match days 9 and 10 helped the team climb higher to their current position.

On the African continent, Morocco maintains their number one position with Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, and Nigeria sitting in the top five positions.

The rise will help in seeding and draws for future competitions, like the Africa World Cup Playoffs and the March 2026 interConfederation playoffs in the United States.

Other teams in contention for the World Cup ticket —Cameroon sits number 9 in the continent and 54th in the world, Democratic Republic of Congo sits 11th in Africa and 60th in the world while Gabon sits 15th in Africa and 77th in the world.

This further gives Nigeria an edge on the paper against other countries, but football is not played on paper, but on the pitch; however, this ranking further boosts the confidence of Nigerians in their team’s hope of making it to the Mundial. 2026.
