Tempers flared, upsets, redemption and a show of glory across match centres in the Premier League last weekend.

From the battle at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium to the clash of the titans at Old Trafford, the world’s arguably biggest and most dramatic league never stopped giving exhilarating excitement and various wow moments across several matches centres.

Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Tottenham Hotspur started the match week with a one-goal-to-nil victory courtesy of a headed goal from Harry Kane in the 64th minute after a flick on by Ivan Perisic to find the Englishman in the box, in that game, Harry Kane took his goal tally for spurs to 250 goals in total and 185 goals scored for a single club in the premier league breaking the record set by Sergio Aguero who scored 184 goals for Manchester City in the league, He is 75 goals behind Alan Shearer’s overall league record of 260 goals.

With that win, Tottenham Hotspur currently sits fourth on the log on seven points and has now won seven of their last eight home Premier League games, including each of the last five, while Bruno Lage’s Wolves sit eighteenth and have gone a stretch of 10 games without a league win.

Arsenal FC 3-0 AFC Bournemouth
Arsenal ended the day’s action with a three-goal-to-nothing routing of Bournemouth on Saturday evening, A brace from Martin Ødegaard and an additional goal in the second half from William Saliba gave The Gunners a comprehensive victory over The Cherries while Gabriel Jesus almost got a bite at the cherry with a goal that was disallowed after a thorough examination from the Video Assistant Referee “VAR”.

Gabriel Jesus was a bright spark in the game and he also had a hand in double out of the three goals that The Gunners put past the goal post of The Cherries.

That comprehensive victory from the Gunners meant that Mikel Arteta’s side have won their opening three Premier League matches for the first time since the 2004-05 league season.

Arsenal currently sits at the summit of the league table while Bournemouth sits five spots off the bottom of the log on fifteen (15).

Now to Super Sunday.

Leeds United FC 3-0 Chelsea FC
Chelsea started the afternoon receiving humiliation and annihilation off the hands of Leeds United at Elland Road, it was a game that the fans of the blues would want to forget in a hurry as it was a mix of a shambolic defensive showing and a toothless attacking performance from the blues, The peacocks rightfully capitalised and secured a deserving victory as Jesse Marsch schooled Thomas Tuchel in their quest for superiority.

Goals from Brenden Aaronson, Rodrigo Moreno and Jack Harrison gave Leeds United the win over Chelsea with Kalidou Koulibaly culminating a dreadful afternoon that it was for the blues as he picked up a red card in the closing stages of the game, Chelsea sit twelfth on the premier league table while Leeds United sit pretty at the third position on the table.

Newcastle United FC 3-3 Manchester City FC
The Magpies and The Cityzens gave neutrals a feel of ecstasy as they both gave enthralling performances. Manchester City opened the floodgate of goals with Ikay Gundogan putting his name on the scoresheet but Mikel Almiron, Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier added three for Newcastle United before Manchester City responded once again with goals from Erling Haaland and Bernardo Silva.

It was an evening of goals as Eddie Howe’s side and Pep Guardiola’s boys gave everything it needed for a victory but it seemed it was a perfect game that both sides deserved to share the spoils, Newcastle United occupy the sixth position on the log while Manchester City relinquished the top spot for the Gunners last weekend as the currently occupy second on the table.

Manchester United FC 2-1 Liverpool FC
This was a game for redemption for the Old Trafford based side as they gave their fans something to cheer, Jadon Sancho opened scoring for the Red Devils via a nifty footwork and a curling effort, Marcus Rashford scored the second while Mohammed Salah scored the consolation for Liverpool. Manchester United were superior to Liverpool at most points in the game but it necessarily wouldn’t show in the stats but it never looked like they were going to falter in their quest for victory, The Reds, Liverpool would currently be in all sorts wondering what could be going wrong as they have failed to win any of their first three games of the league season for the first time in a decade.

Another worrying trend for Jurgen Klopp and his boys would be in their defence as they have conceded the first goal in their last seven Premier League games which shows that they haven’t had the best of starts in recent matches, Erik Ten Hag lads showed intensity, tenacity and the will to win with how they got at the game from the blast of the whistle to the blast of the final whistle, Manchester United with that victory moved up to fourteenth while Liverpool dropped to sixteenth on the premier league table.
