Bayelsa United Striker, Robert Christian Mizo, has sealed a deal to join Libyan top side, Al Hilal, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
As first reported by www.exclusivenews.com, the in-form striker penned a three-and-a-half-year deal with the North African club.
In an exclusive interview with www.exclusivenews.com, Mizo’s Agent, Gbenga Agbejoye, expressed his joy that the deal was agreed between both parties at good time.
“I can tell you authoritatively that Robert Mizo has been signed by Libyan club side, Al Hilal from Bayelsa United. He agreed to a 3-year and six-month contract with them that will keep him in the club till the summer of 2027.”
“I and my team are indeed excited about this and we are happy that we closed the deal before the end of the winter transfer window”, he said.
Mizo, who is currently the second highest goal scorer in the NPFL with 10 goals in 14 matches so far this season, opened the season with a hattrick against Abia Warriors in a 4-1 whitewash of the Umuahia based side, also scored nine goals for the Prosperity Boys last season to finish second behind Enyimba’s Emeka Obioma.
Meanwhile, Mizo joins the long list of NPFL top goal scorers rewarded with an overseas deal because of their goals-scoring exploits with the likes of Ahmed Musa, Julius Aghahowa, Junior Lokosa, Stephen Nworgu, Chisom Chikatara, Stephen Odey etc., being on the list.
