Uzodinma reinstates Christian Obi as Heartland coach

Drama is brewing in Heartland as Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has ordered Christian Obi to be returned as coach of the Naze Millionaires, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

According to multiple reports, the Governor made this order after a meeting with the Commissioner of Sports, Emeka Okoronkwo. The Governor’s order now leaves question marks over the position of Kennedy Boboye position in the Owerri-based team.

Boboye was appointed after the sack of Obi from the team. Despite Obi navigating the murky waters of the Nigeria National League and returning the team to the top flight, he failed to win any match in the Nigeria Premier Football League both home and away with the team languishing in the rock bottom of the NPFL table after nine games.

Although the team remains bottom, Boboye has helped the team win two games since he came on board. Heartland are only three points away from leaving the bottom four. The Naze Millionaires hosts table toppers Remo Stars on Thursday, December 28 by 4 pm
