Hana Goda, a 15-year-old table tennis star on Sunday defeated fellow Egyptian and African number one in the finals of the women’s singles of the 2023 edition of the ITTF Africa Senior Tennis Championship in Tunis, capital Tunisia.
The 15-year-old led the former Champion in the first three sets of the game, a performance that was enough to weaken the firepower of her opponent who managed to win only the fourth set of the game ensuring the game ended 11-7, 11-4, 13-11, 8-11, 11-4 in favour of the young star who secured her second win over Meshref in just four months.
This win means Hana Goda is very well on course to be crowned the new African women’s number one, a record in the sports for her age. Hana currently has a total of 700 points while multiple-time African Champion, Dina Meshref has a total of 770.
