…as former commissioner decamps To PDP

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Owan and former Edo State Commissioner for Woman Affairs, Hon. Inumidun Taiwo has dumped the APC and defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The former Women Affairs and Social Development Commissioner under the Oshiomhole-led administration announced her defection on Friday during a meeting with Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu at the Government House, Benin City.

Welcoming Hon. Inumidun Taiwo into the PDP, Shaibu described her defection as an added advantage to the party in Owan and the State at large, while expressing optimism that her defection would encourage others to join the PDP.

“I know you have been lonely all this while in APC. Even if we have not been talking, they have been telling me all she has been doing over there. I have always looked forward to a day like this because there’s no way you can be trusted there. They believe I have a hand in all you do over there”.

She’s always up to speak the truth and a place where truth is not told, she doesn’t want to be there”.

“We have always worked together. We know our boundaries and what we want to do. What’s happening in Edo today is that the genuine progressive democrats are beginning to come together again”.

“We were deceived by some people that they are progressives and we followed them. But now, we can confirm that they are not. What’s about to happen in Nigeria is that like minds are coming together to say enough is enough of the lies told over the years”.

“2023 is our decisive year to re-discover ourselves and genuinely rescue Nigeria and return to the democratic way where the interest of our people will be the issue on the front burner”.

According to the new PDP entrant, she was back home with her brothers and sisters with the Deputy Governor who she described as a straightforward man.

“I know he’s a pillar in Edo North and a peaceful and truthful man who does not listen to or believe in lies. He’s a man who loves getting to the truth in any situation before taking steps”.

“He’s my mentor and someone they have always identified me with . I’m right here before you to join the PDP and contribute to the victory of the party from the presidential to the last election”.

“Today is my happiest day because I have always wanted to be where Comrade Philip Shaibu is; he’s a man I have always believed in no matter what.”

The event was witnessed by some PDP leaders from Edo North, including the PDP candidate for Owan Federal Constituency, Hon. Jimoh ljegbai.
