Bronze medal-winning Flying Eagles of Nigeria at the just concluded CAF U-20 Nations Cup in Egypt, are back in the country to continue preparations for the FIFA U-20 World Cup scheduled for May, in Indonesia.
The Seven-time champions touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja at about 9 am, two days after clinching the bronze medal after beating Tunisia 4-0.
In a one-minute video posted on the Nigeria Football Federation’s official Twitter handle with the caption “Welcome back Flying Eagles, #SoarFlyingEagles, a cross-section of the players and officials were seen moving about with their luggage.

The team led by Coach Ladan Bosso after losing the first game 1-0 to the eventual winners, Senegal, went ahead to beat hosts, Egypt and Mozambique in their last two group stage matches.
The team defeated Uganda in the quarter-finals to pick the semi-finals ticket and one of the available four tickets for Africa at the World Cup scheduled for May this year; The 2005 world cup finalists were however defeated by a goal to nil in the semifinals by The Gambia and went ahead to win the bronze medal with a humiliating 4-0 defeat to the Junior Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.
The team, before departing Egypt, last Saturday paid the Ambassador of Nigeria to the Arabic Nation of Egypt, Ambassador Nuru Abba Rimi where they were treated to a kingship banquet.
The Flying Eagles will join three other African nations – Senegal, The Gambia and Tunisia at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia, in May.
