The 2025/2026 Nigeria Women Football League Premiership (NWFL), will kick off on November 26, 2025, platinunnewsng.com is reporting
The kick-off date was announced on Wednesday, October 29, during the Annual General Assembly (AGA) of the Nigerian Women’s Football League, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The 20-team league season will last six months with the final match scheduled for April 22, 2026. Teams will compete in four match weeks before proceeding on a Christmas break, after which action will resume on January 7, 2026.
Six teams will be relegated at the end of the campaign, three from each group, with the top three making it to the Super Six.
Group A houses defending champions, Bayelsa Queens, Edo Queens, Adamawa Queens, Pacesetter Queens, Heartland Queens, Ekiti Queens, Naija Ratels, Ibom Angels, Castmog Ladies and FA Cup holders, Rivers Angels
Group B houses Nasarawa Amazons, Delta Queens, Sunshine Queens, newly promoted Ahudiyannem Queens, Dannaz Ladies, Remo Stars, Osun Babes, Abia Angels, FC Robo and Confluence Queens
The Assembly reaffirmed player eligibility rules, stating that the age limit remains 15–17 years, and clubs will not be allowed to register more than three underaged players in their squads.
As part of efforts to strengthen financial governance, all clubs are required to submit an annual financial report at the end of the season.
The NWFL further announced the timeline for online registration ahead of the new season. The registration portal will open on November 14, 2025 and close on November 22, 2025, with an automatic shutdown after the deadline. To ensure a smooth process, video tutorials will be circulated to clubs before November 14 detailing steps for successful registration.
