Matchday 32 of the Nigeria Premier Football League wrapped up on Tuesday morning with Bayelsa United picking up maximum points against Rivers United at the Samson Siasia stadium in Yenagoa, platinumnewsmg.com is reporting
The match between the Prosperity Boys and the Pride of Rivers, initially set for Monday April 29th was postponed eight minutes into the derby due to adverse weather conditions. Bayelsa United had taken the lead before the postponement thanks to an early goal from Ekeson Okorie at the 4th minute.
The game was then rescheduled for Tuesday, April 30th by 8am. Resuming under clear skies, Bayelsa United maintained their lead until the end of the first half, despite a brief equalizer by Kazie Enyinnaya of Rivers United in the 45+2 minute.
However, just two minutes later, Muniru Abdulrahman scored, bringing Bayelsa ahead again with a score of 2-1 by halftime.
The second half saw no additional goals, securing Bayelsa United’s maximum points.
