At least, 8 football clubs from Nigeria and abroad have registered their interest in having Bendel Insurance’s centre-back, Tanimu Benjamin beef up their defence lines.
A source from the player’s management team disclosed that four clubs from the Nigeria Professional Football League – two from the North, a Western side and another team from the East – have all contacted the Bendel Insurance management to commence negotiation.
“We are aware that Bendel Insurance FC management has been contacted by these clubs, one of them is in the continent and they said they want to have him in their team; they are only waiting to hear from the management if their valuation is worth attending to.”
The source also confirmed that not only clubs in the country have looked at signing one of the highest-scoring players last season in the Nigerian National League (NNL) has also gotten offers from four clubs in Spain and France jostling for his services.
“There are also offers from clubs in Spain and France. They saw what he has been doing so far and especially since last season with Insurance.”
Benjamin Tanimu scored four goals for Bendel Insurance and featured in 21 of the 22 matches played last season – sitting out only one game due to family function – picking up only 2 yellow cards in the games he played.
Benjamin Tanimu also helped Bendel Insurance to the Round of 16 of Nigeria’s Federation Cup (AITEO CUP) assisting their equalizing goal in their 2-1 defeat to Nasarawa United.
