Sunday Anyanwu bids emotional farewell to Bendel Insurance

Former Bendel Insurance centre back Sunday Anyanwu, has officially bid farewell to the club after he was recently unveiled as player of Ostersunds FK in Sweden on Sunday, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

In an emotional message shared on X, Anyanwu expressed deep gratitude to his family, teammates, coaches, and fans for their support throughout his journey with the Benin-based team.

“All glory unto God, my Saviour and giver of life! Leaving behind a family that has been my rock, my support system, and my everything for years is highly emotional for me,” Anyanwu stated, reflecting on the bonds he formed at Bendel Insurance. He described this transition as a “new journey, one that promises to take me to greater heights as a player.”

Anyanwu looked back on his years with Bendel Insurance with overwhelming gratitude, acknowledging the collective sacrifices, victories, and defeats that shaped his development both on and off the field. He credited his family, the Anyanwu Family, for their love and guidance, which he says have been instrumental in his growth as a person and a player.

Addressing his teammates, coaches, medical staff, media, management, and fans, Anyanwu expressed heartfelt thanks for their encouragement and support. “You’ve been my driving force, my motivation,” he remarked.

Anyanwu also paid tribute to his football foundation, Ine Stars, and his mentors—Coach Nnamdi Onuigbo, Coach Precious Asemota, and Coach Osaro Egharevba—who discovered and nurtured his talent from a young age. “I’m forever grateful,” he wrote.

Anyanwu’s departure marks the end of an era for Bendel Insurance where he achieved promotion with the team to the Nigeria premier Football League as Nigeria National League Champions of 2022. He went on to win the 2023 Federation Cup with the Benin Arsenal.
