FIFA Talent Development: Two Edo talents hit Morocco with Future Eagles

Amongst the 22 young players who arrived in Morocco earlier today with the Nigeria national under-15 team, the Future Eagles are two Edo State young Stars, Dominion Osaghae Ighodaro of Bendel Insurance Feeders and Emmanuel Obasohan of Edo Dynamo Sports Foundation, Platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

Both players who have shown their quality and talent at different under 12, under 14 and 15 tournaments within the state got the favour of Coach Patrick Bassey, who is known for his experience and ability to identify and develop talents.

For Dominion, the 14-year-old who was identified early enough by Coach Stanley Osazee, popularly known as Coach Seyi of the Bendel Insurance Feeders, has enjoyed one of the best development training programs and exposures through the Bendel Insurance set-up.

The wonder kid was the Captain of Coach Aghaowa Osayomore’s Team Edo Under 15 team at the National Youth Games, bossing the Midfield and scoring goals starting from the playoffs in Benin City and at the tournament proper at Asaba.

On his part, Emmanuel Obasohan, nicknamed Sagi, has shown his top quality over the years, starting from under 10 level for his team, Edo Dynamo Sports Foundation. Despite his young age, he was often featured in tournaments far beyond his age level and yet dominated.

At the 2023 Iyekiya family youth football tournament, Emmanuel was named the most valuable player, firing his team to lift the trophy with his inspiring performance all through the tournament.

The versatile midfielder was deployed at centre back by Coach Aghaowa Osayomore during the Playoffs for Team Edo at the National Youth games and also at the tournament finals.

The delegation of 22 players, Dominion Osaghae Ighodaro, Emmanuel Obasohan and six officials, with Coach Patrick Bassey as the head of the coaching crew, arrived in Casablanca at about 11 AM Wednesday.

The team will be involved in two friendly matches scheduled for the Complexe Mohammed VI de Football on the 12th and 15th of December. Both matches will kick off at 5 pm Nigerian time.
