Super Eagles Defender Leads 3 Other Nigerians to Club World Cup

Nigerians will have their eyes on the upcoming club world cup as four former Super Eagles left-backs, will play in the maiden edition of the tournament.

The tournament commences in the early hours of Sunday, Inter Miami takes on Al Ahly at the Hard Rock Stadium, in Miami.

Super Eagles left-back, Zaidu Sanusi was named in Porto’s 28-man squad. His side is set to face Inter Miami and Al Ahly in group A after playing Palmeiras in their first game.

Four former Flying Eagles stars will feature in the club world cup with three playing for United Arab Emirates side, Al Ain.

Haliru Sarki, midfielder Joshua Udoh and goalkeeper Hassan Muhammed have been named in Al Ain’s squad to take on Manchester City, Wydad and Juventus in group G.

Esperance has named former Flying Eagles playmaker, Onuche Ogbelu in their 25-man squad to play against Flamengo, Chelsea and Los Angeles FC in Group D.

The 22-year-old, Ogbelu recently penned a two-year contract with the blood and gold side from Tunisia. He is set to play a key role for Esperance in the club World Cup.
