After experiencing fireworks from Matchday Two of the 2026 Benin City Youth League, Matchday Three is set to deliver more exciting football action as teams battle for top spots, mid-table stability, and survival from an early drop to the relegation zone of the league. With four matches scheduled at the award-winning facility —Eagle Wings Sports Complex, the league table could see major changes by the end of Thursday March 26.

The current top four clubs — Rolly, BJ Foundation, Dynamo Academica and Benin Warriors Football Clubs — will aim to continue on their perfect start to the season, as they meet up with teams relatively finding their feet after two rounds of games.

Let’s look into the games for the week.

Namo Sport vs Eagle Wings
The opening fixture will see Namo Sport take on Eagle Wings FC in a crucial encounter. Namo Sport Club is yet to pick up a point this season and will be desperate to kickstart their campaign, while Eagle Wings, who already have three points, will be aiming to move into the top half of the table.

This match could be a turning point for Namo Sport if they can secure their first points of the season.

Rolly FC vs Victoria FA
One of the biggest matches of Matchday 3 will see Rolly FC face Victoria FA. Rolly FC are in excellent form with two wins from two matches and sit among the league leaders with six points, Victoria FA on the other hand has gathered four points from two games, thanks to a 1-0 win over Genesis FC, courtesy of Ogude’s 21st-minute strike.

A win for Rolly FC could keep them at the top of the table, while Victoria FA could move into the top three with a victory. This is expected to be one of the most competitive matches of the matchday.

Rangers Dynamite vs Genesis FC
This is another important clash that stakeholders will look forward to on Thursday afternoon.

Rangers Dynamite are still searching for their first win of the season, having suffered two defeats and a three-goal deficit, while Genesis FC have three points and are looking to climb into the top half of the table.

Genesis FC may go into the match as slight favourites based on their position on the table, but Rangers Dynamite will be fighting hard to avoid falling further down the standings — a banana peel for Genesis FC

Living Voice vs Alhaji FC
The final match of the day will see Living Voice FC take on Alhaji FC in what can be described as a bottom-table battle or survival of the fittest.

Both teams are yet to record a point this season, making this a must-win game for both sides.

The winner could move out of the relegation zone, while the loser remains rooted at the bottom of the table. Both sides have managed to score one goal each and have conceded 11 goals between themselves — indications have it that goals will be scored, but which side takes the day remains a question asked by fans.

Early days, though, but matchday three could begin to separate title contenders from mid-table teams and relegation battlers. Teams like Rolly FC have started strongly; the pressure now lies on other teams to keep up with the early pace-setters in the Benin City Youth League.

All roads lead to the Eagle Wings Sports Complex as another exciting round of youth football unfolds in Benin City.
