Sending me to Class 8 is robbery against humanity by festival officials- Ada Okungbowa.

One of the special athletes present at the ongoing 21st National Sports Festival under Para Table Tennis, Ada Okungbowa has expressed sadness over the treatment meted out to him by the officials of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation.

The amputee player expressed his disappointment in Asaba Saturday evening after he was walked over for what he termed as unjust.

Okungbowa had already played two games in Class 5 at the ongoing festival but when he was to play against Deltan opponents.

“I have been playing like this for 16 years and during the ValueJet Table Tennis competition I was classified by a foreign classifier who confirmed that I should be in that class.”

“I couldn’t make it to the last tournament because I was sick and since I came for this, I was classified for my first two matches but when it was my turn to play Delta, they said I should go to Class 8 or be walked over.”

“What they have done is nothing but the unfair treatment of me and this is what has led many players to quit because of their bias judgment and classification.”
